MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Hello SHAG Members,
This year's golf and socials are off
to a great start -- thanks to our
January social (horse races), golf
outing at Oakhurst, and Super Bowl
party at Mike Quinn's home (thank
you again Mike for the great time).
The turnouts for both the golf and
Super Bowl party were very
encouraging. Hopefully, we
will continue to get lots of golfers
out for the camaraderie on the
courses this year!
Please make plans to attend the
Members Meeting at the Fox and Hound
off Highway 249 at 6:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, February 15 (thanks to
Joan McDonald for setting up).
There will be door prizes,
socializing, and discussions about
what's coming this year.
Looking forward to seeing everyone
there!

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY GOLF RESULTS
The weather surprised us all.
Despite gloomy forecasts of mega
rain and cold, 22 people still
turned up and the weather totally
held off. The course had drained
well so we were not sloshing around
in mud, but it was cart path only.
So we all got walking exercise and
faced the tolerable 48 degrees. What
heroes!

The Golf
Calendar for 2012 is now published
on the
SHAG web site
for you to
review and plan exciting play days
for this year. We already have
a few events scheduled, but our most
pressing need is to start filling up
the early portion of the calendar.
I would appreciate any assistance in
getting some play dates scheduled
sooner rather than later. It's
not very hard to host an event...
you'll have plenty of help. Please
let me know how I can assist to make
the process easier on you. You

Note: Lance has asked that we
publish the responsibilities of
board members in our newsletters
throughout the year. The first
of these is that of the Golf Chair
(written by Greg Rogers).
- Establishing, organizing, and
maintaining the Golf Calendar for
the year
- Seeking organizers for the
scheduled golf dates
- Assisting the organizer with
his/her/their event:
... suggestions of course, format, prizes, side pot, etc. ... if
needed
... generation and/or review of the pairings for the event:
... supply the pairings spreadsheet of previous outings for the
year
... try to have different playing partners at each event
- Maintain the historical pairings
spreadsheet: Cart pairings, Group
pairings and Order of pairing in the
event (front to back)
- Update the Board on a monthly
basis regarding status of play
dates/issues/suggestions.
